Trivial Week Episode 6

In the Trivial Week Podcast Episode 6, I recount creating questions that will be used for a person’s retirement party. But the facts can be used for the topic – African American History.

There are facts about Seattle, The University of Washington, Buffalo Soldiers, Tina Turner, Bob Marley, and The Civil Rights Movement.

What’s Up with the Meet Up?

This week has been rife with good inspiration for trivia topics.

  • A podcast about cicadas is leading me to do a round on insects and tiny creatures.
  • A corvair driving down the road makes me think about the history of automobiles.
  • A news story about Michelle Pfeifer is making me want to join a cult just to lose weight.

The movies star Michael Caine.

At My Most Unkept

The wrongest fact that I learned from a trivia team last week: John Wayne’s favorite bite-sized toffys were “nips”.  I’m sure that is derogatory somehow.

I’ve watching a Hell on Wheels marathon and wrapped up just in time to determine that I have NO friggin’ clue about what categories to quiz you guys about this week.

What on-demand series do YOU obsess about?

Oh that’s right.  I’ll do an actual music trivia… not just “name that tune”.  And more chemistry/physics/material properties this week too.

Do an iTunes Genius list of MGMT’s “Kids” for help with the music round.

Love ya and see ya at 8:30 Tuesday

It Rained On My Rubber Chips

So just like everything else, my life is subject to Murphy’s Law.

I was in the backyard clearing up a patch of rubber chips and thought – the grass needs watering.  You know… the dog is making the ground acidic.  I get out the sprinkler and water the crap out of the yard (not literally, I clean that up right away).  And the very next day. Rain.

This week trivia is going to be totally random.  Mostly based on the current events that I gather on the web, and a little bit from podcasts that I have been listening to.

5 bonus points to anyone who knows what’s up with the rubber chips.  I said something about them a couple weeks ago.

Happy Tuesday!

It’s OVER!

This is the first year in recent history that I made it all the way through Beer Lent without slipping even once!  Come celebrate with me this week and let’s talk about sharks, failed celebrity couples, and other forces of nature… (5 bonus points to anyone who is drinking the beer that I was craving by the end of beer lent.)

See my feed as I choose more questions.

Funniest answer last week: Team Half-Fast wasn’t Rick-Rolled.  They thought that Rick Astley was Billy Ocean!  Kudos for knowing an even obscurer artist who DOES sound like Rick Astley

Most Incorrect team name last week: Highest Points Per Participant (Village Idiot had a 1 person team and scored higher by participant)

Cleaning House!

Last week while fixing the roof, my fatass broke my phone…so now I’m SUPER distracted by setting up this sucker…  Plus, I just texted my mom and told her to send me a picture for my contacts…. Can’t wait to see what that gets me  🙂

  • Since the wifey is infatuated with Wolverine, expect some comic book character trivia.
  • The movie is a friggin’ fantastic sci-fi
  • …and some sports trivia for one of the new tables

OK… See ya at 8:30!

p.s. does anyone know what the secret bonus song was last week???  I was stumped.

Bring Out The Kracken!

This weekend I went to eastern Washington for a wedding…  I had a kickass good time and still can’t find Pasco on a map!

I don’t know if it was the 100+ degree weather or the ludacris amounts of rum & gingers that I drank, but my mind is still a little fuzzy.  This week my lovely assistant, Wanjiku, will be asking questions about:

The color orange, Oceans, Ice Cream, and eastern WA (or wedding rituals).

Come out and play!

My favorite podcast that I found this week is called You Look Nice Today.  Three hilarious guys chatting about random topics in a total stream o consciousness.  Great use of sound effects too.  Try the sushi

Does Anyone Know What A Swirl Is?

I’m getting totally hooked on a Netflix original – Orange is the New Black.  The captain from Star Trek Voyager is the Russian chef who serves tampon sandwiches for breakfast.  That’s all I’m saying!

This week there are questions about famous people doing time  and people famous for doing time.

And the movie is a crime drama classic from Scorsese.

Enjoy your freedom, bitches!
